Martín Maldonado appeared in 125 games for the Houston Astros during the 2021 regular season. Maldonado slashed .172/.272/.300 with a - 0.1 WAR, and he collected 64 hits, 12 home runs, and 36 RBIs. 

Behind the plate, Maldonado had a .993 fielding percentage and an impressive 40% CS% after catching 1,010.2 innings for the Astros. His 2021 CS% was good for second in the AL, behind Salvador Perez.
